He served as the Department Chair from 2009 to 2014, and the Interim Dean in 2015 with Syracuse University, where he is currently a Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Since 1988, he has been teaching with Syracuse University. He has co-authored the book Elements of Artificial Neural Networks (MIT Press, 1997), and authored the book Frontiers of Expert Systems: Reasoning With Limited Knowledge (Kluwer, 2000).
